Dr. Laura Duggan (Naturopathic Doctor)
Dr. Laura Duggan ND graduated from McMaster University in 2005 with a Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology an Biology. While studying she traveled with The World Literacy Of Canada teaching english and providing health support to local communities.
She then completed four years of postgraduate study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. During her second year at CCNM with Naturopathic Doctors International she traveled to Nicaragua treating local residents in Ometepe.
During her final year at CCNM, Laura completed a one-year internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic (RSNC) in general practice and additional training in Perinatal and Pediatrics care, In addition, during her internship, Laura provided naturopathic healthcare at LAMP community health centre in Etobicoke and at the Queen West Health Centre in Toronto.
Laura is certified in First Line Therapy (FLT), which is an advanced certification program in recognizing the barriers to weight loss and helping patients achieve optimal body composition. Laura has received additional training in Cosmetic Acupuncture for Facial Rejuvenation with Virgina Doran, Fertility with Liz Laylor and courses in homeopathic medicine with George Vithouklas. Laura is also trained as a doula, traditional birth attendant.
Laura holds professional memberships with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She is licensed in Ontario through the Board of Drugless Practitioners (BDDT-N). She is also a member of the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors (APND), a group specializing in issues surrounding pregnancy and fertility.
Laura utilizes acupuncture, botanical medicine, nutrition, homeopathy and lifestyle counseling in her practice to remove barriers to healing as well as promoting the body to heal itself.
Rita Napal, Homeopath
Rita Napal has been working in the health care sector for more than 20 years, both here in Canada and in the United Kingdom. A graduate of the University of Cardiff in South Wales, Rita completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, graduating with honours.
From there she pursued a career working in a variety of different hospital environments in the biochemistry department. Through this comprehensive and diverse experience, Rita developed a foundational approach to diagnosis based in the hard sciences.
Her background working in traditional hospital settings has reinforced within her the need for proper medical research and clinical analysis before moving on to treatment plans.
As her career evolved Rita was drawn to methodologies that employed a more holistic approach to personal health, healing and wellness. She graduated from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine with honours in both Science and Homeopathy.
Rita’s combined understanding of traditional medical options and alternative homeopathic healing has given her a balanced approach that takes in the full spectrum of holistic, human requirements.
Rita always begins with an in-depth consultation designed to accurately assess each patient’s background and lifestyle. Nutrition, stress, emotions as well as any current or previous medications are all considered carefully as part of the process.
By taking the time to explore all of the available options, Rita continues to bring new levels of health and healing to her practice. However most importantly of all, Rita loves people and truly wants to help them – this sincerity shows in everything she does.
